Ironclad Assault plus Dauntless Paint - Original Concept LTI
Standalone CCU'ed is a complete ship or vehicle. It is not an upgrade! CCU'ed simply means that it was created by upgrading a smaller ship or vehicle to the one you are buying. Please also note that in the gift email, only the ship that was used as the base for upgrading will be named. Please don't worry, the actual ship you will see in your hangar will be the one you've ordered.
For example, this is how a CCU'ed Polaris looks like in hangar on RSI website.
When you unfold the details you can see that it actually contains a Polaris
Original Concept is a ship or vehicle that is not upgraded in any way or form and comes with Life Time Insurance (LTI). They are usually sought after by collectors. Here is an example image of Original Concept Carrack.
Some rare packages like Collectors Edition ones might be categorized as Original Concept even if they were upgraded, but that's because the main value comes from the original package that is included and not the upgrades. In those cases the upgrades will be listed in the title and exact contents shown in the screenshots of the listing.

Standalone Not CCU'ed
Standalone NOT CCU'ed ships and vehicles as the name suggests are simply items that were not upgraded. They are similar to the Original Concept ones but they do not have LTI.

The Drake Interplanetary Ironclad Assault is a Star Citizen large heavy dropship built for firepower, durability, and combat-focused gameplay. This listing includes the Ironclad Assault standalone ship from Drake Interplanetary as an Original Concept edition with Lifetime Insurance (LTI), plus Dauntless Paint, delivered through the RSI gifting system.
The Ironclad Assault combines weapons, missiles, and snub support for troop transport and combat support.
What you're getting
- Item type: Standalone ship
- Game: Star Citizen
- Ship: Drake Interplanetary Ironclad Assault
- Offer/edition: Original Concept
- Manufacturer: Drake Interplanetary
- Role: Heavy Dropship
- Also included: Dauntless Paint
- Insurance: Lifetime Insurance (LTI)

Key features
- Weapons: The Ironclad Assault expands the armament of the Ironclad and is equipped with a manned armament of two size 3 quad turrets, two size 3 twin turrets at the bow and one ventral size 5 quad turret, which serve the purpose of delivering deadly air support and ensuring the safe clearance of landing zones. Additionally, it boasts two remote dorsal twin Size 3 turrets that can be operated remotely from the Operations Bridge.
- Finally, two dorsal five-cell vertical launch systems allow for the carriage and launch of ten size 5 torpedoes even when landed
- Vehicle bay: The cargo bay of the normal Ironclad is repurposed explicitly for the carriage of vehicles in the Ironclad Assault, supporting up to four Tumbril Novas or their equivalent and presenting a forward ramp to allow vehicles to embark or disembark from the ship under their own power. The bay is also useful for the carriage of a large flight of snub fighters or their equivalent due to the retained retracting roof, allowing for vertical access.
- Despite this repurposing, the bay is still useful for heavy freight when the ship is not being used for its primary task, though lacking the Ironclad's tractor beam support
- Vehicle service bay: A comprehensive vehicle garage at the rear of the cargo bay allows for refueling, repairing, and re-arming ground vehicles along with fabricating new components for on-site replacement. The repair bay can repair both vehicles and ships and comes equipped with a fabricator
- Infantry support: The Ironclad Assault is constructed with an armory bridging over the forward ramp for the storage of personal arms and equipment, as well as eighteen jump-seats within and beside the armory. Six additional jump seats are divided between the port and starboard personnel airlocks, with additional weapon racks supporting these airlocks.
- The personnel airlocks lead to small platforms from which infantry can begin engaging enemies before completely departing the ship and from which infantry can re-enter the ship.
- A dedicated roof-top access ladder allows infantry to take an elevated position with ease, and the main airlock and docking collar on the starboard side of the ship stores further weapon racks and suit lockers separately from the main armory, allowing rapid readiness for EVA operations
- Command module: Capable of scouting in advance, providing aerial protection during cargo loading, or assisting in cargo management with the mounted tractor beam, the detachable command module can function autonomously, features quantum capabilities, and is armed and ready for combat with an attached remote turret.
- It additionally acts as an impromptu dropship for landings in constrained spaces or as an escape pod for the entire rated crew of the Ironclad Assault with the use of ten jump seats
- Habitation: The Ironclad Assault has a rated crew of nine, and can service all nine with quarters for six crewmen on the ship, a separate dedicated captain's quarters, and two bunks on the command module. As well as containing the crew quarters the ship's main habitation area includes a kitchen, mess, and two of the typical Drake Interplanetary hygiene booths, another of which is also available on both the command module

Star Citizen offers its players the chance to upgrade their virtual spacecraft through a feature known as "Cross Chassis Upgrades" or CCUs. These upgrades allow users to swap one ship for another while maintaining the original ship's value. To effectively apply these upgrades, follow the instructions below:
1. Purchase the CCU
Before anything else, you must first buy the CCU you want. You can do this by:
- Head over to our upgrades section
- Find the upgrade to the ship you want to upgrade to and choose the correct source ship from the drop down menu
- Complete the purchase
- Wait for the delivery via RSI gifting system (in most cases you should receive an email with the gift link in a few minutes)
- Claim the upgrade by logging in on the RSI website and then clicking the gift link
2. Locate Your CCU in Your Hangar
After purchasing, your CCU will be sent to your online hangar.
- Go to the "My Hangar" section on the RSI website.
- Browse through your hangar's list until you find the CCU you just purchased.
3. Apply the Upgrade
Now that you've located the CCU, the next step is to apply it to your ship.
- Click on the arrow located next to your CCU to expand its details.
- Find the "Apply Upgrade" button and click on it.
- You'll be taken to a page that will show both your current ship and the ship you want to upgrade to. Confirm that the details are accurate.
- Click "Next" to move on to the final step.
- On this page, you'll have to confirm the ship you're upgrading and the ship you're getting. If everything is right, click on the "Apply Upgrade" button.
Once you've done this, the upgrade will be finalized, and your old ship will be replaced with the new one in your hangar.
Important Notes
- Melt Value: It's vital to remember that the melt value (the amount you'll get if you exchange your ship for store credit) remains based on the original ship's cost plus the cost of the CCU.
- Downgrades: As of the last update, it's not possible to downgrade ships. If you want a cheaper ship, you'll have to melt your current ship and repurchase the desired one.
- Insurance: When you upgrade a ship, the insurance and other bonuses from the original ship will carry over to the new ship.
- Chaining CCU's: If you are unable to find a direct CCU, you can simply chain the upgrades and apply them one by one to get the ship you want.
By following the above steps, you can smoothly upgrade your ship in Star Citizen and explore the vast universe in a brand-new spacecraft. Always make sure to confirm all details before finalizing any upgrade to avoid potential issues.
